Homemade Almond milk (bademovo mleko)

“How do you milk the almond?”
“Do you need to take it out to eat grass?” I’ve heard all the jokes.

Almond milk is tasty and healthy, great for those with lactose intolerance, and for vegans it’s great with coffee. My first making of this milk was done earlier this year and I hadn’t regret it. Difference between store milk and homemade is the fact that you can be sure that homemade milk don’t contain sugar. There it is. The magic word that makes you continue reading this. No sugar added.

Bademo mleko je ukusno i zdravo, odlična zamena za osobe koje su netolerantne na laktozu, dok su veganima nezaobilazan dodatak uz kafu. Bademovo mleko sam prvi put napravila ove godine, nisam se pokajala. Razlika između kupovnog kog možete nabaviti u bolje snabdevenim bla bla za bla bla dinara je što kada ga ovako napravite možete reći da nema ni malo šećera.
Eto ta čarobna reč zbog koje ćete čitati dalje. Nema šećera.

Ingredients:
100 gr of raw almonds
4 cups of water
some vanilla extract or 3 dates
blender
gauze

Potrebno:
100 gr badema
4 šolje vode
po želji ekstrakt vanile ili 3 sveže urme bez koštica
blender
gaza

First you have to make sure that almonds have spend the night in a bowl that is filled with 4 cups of water. In the morning, do wake up all the neighbors with that loud blender where you have put those almonds, but with some fresh water (4 cups).
If you do change your mind and say: “Why am I making almond milk, I have milk the cow this morning?”, you can eat those plumped almonds as snack if you are dieting “for the weekend” or because you always eat this healthy. Yeah, right.

Obavezno za ovaj recept je da ste 100 gr badema ostavili preko noći potopljene posudi gde ste dodali 4 šolje vode. Ujutru budite komsije sa blenderom dok oceđene bademe meljete sa svežom vodom, 4 šolje. Muzika za njihove uši ako je blender glasan kao moj.

Ako se ipak predomislite i kažete: „Šta će mi koji moj bademovo mleko imam kravicu“, ovako oceđeni bademi su odlicni da se jedu kao užina kod onih fascinantnih dijeta koje svi poznajemo – „za do vikenda dijeta“ a i onih ostalih izgovora „ja se uvek hranim zdravo“.

So, blended mass (in which you already had mixed dates or vanilla) keep pouring trough gauze into the bowl, like your grandma use to do while making homemade cheese. Then gather the gauze’s ends and squeeze as much milk you can out of the blended almonds. Pour the milk into a nice jar and while its stable on room temperature I do prefer keeping it in the fridge.
The remaining pulp can be used to add into cakes, muffins, homemade granola, oat meals ets.
We are not throwing anything away.
Except the almond milk if it turns out you hate it.

Dakle, blendiranu masu (kojoj ste dodali po želji urme ili vanilu) ulivate u posudu koju ste prekrili duplim slojem gaze, kao što je to radila baka kada je pravila sir. Isto tako cedite masu, probudite vašu baku u sebi. Dobijate ovako lepo mleko u tegli koje je stabilno i na sobnoj temperaturi, ali je ipak preporuka da se drži u frižideru jer je meni lično ukusnije hladno.
Pulpa koja ostaje u gazi se takođe koristi. Stavite u kolače, homemade musli, kaše, itd.
Ništa ne bacamo.
Sem možda neki pegle ako im se bademovo mleko ne sviđa.
